What those flowers actually mean!..Giving the one you love the perfect flower

Okay girls, its Valentine’s Day, you get flowers, it’s your birthday, you get flowers. Flowers are the most universal gift you can get, but what do they really mean. Girls, here is a guide to really understand what those flowers mean, and boys, here’s some information on giving your “other” the perfect bouquet.

The Red Rose

The red rose is probably the most “received” flower. The red rose has always symbolized love and romantic relationships. If a woman receives a rose from a gentleman, she knows he has romantic feelings for her. They are seen as classic. So boys, if you really love that girl, a bouquet of red roses is prefect to let her know how you feel.

The White Rose
White roses symbolize love, and purity. But in some ways, white roses remind me of a funeral, and somewhat symbolize death. In my opinion, don’t go with a set of white roses for the one you love!
Remember, the key to giving roses is to understand what they mean, and who you are giving your rose too. If you are deciding to give your “other” a rose..go with red!

The Orchid

Roses are beautiful, but boys, if you want your flowers to make a statement, go with orchids. Orchids represent beauty and perfection. Orchids, unlike roses, are perfect for ANY occasion. They show a higher status then roses and endure qualities that no other flower does. The concept of orchids can make a woman feel valuable when received. When decided what kind of flower to present t your love, you cannot go wrong with Orchids!

So boys, use this when deciding what flower to get your hunny....it will be the best thing you ever read!

Ladies, Here it is: All About Prom!

Bookmark and Share
Okay ladies, this ones for you!..This blog is all about PROM! As this season draws near, girls everywhere are beginning to plan. Dresses are being shopped for, hair pictures are being searched for and limo companies are being researched for the best prices! This blog is all about dresses, hair and make-up! So here are just some little tips and tricks for you ladies to help you get ready for your perfect prom!

The Dress:
Its prom..that means the search is on for the PERFECT dress, one that fits your body and personality to the tee, and one that hopefully no other girls have! Girls, when shopping around for your dress, it’s okay to have an idea of what you want, but don’t go into it with too many expectations. Going with experience, you will usually find your dress when you’re not expecting it, and it just might be something totally different from what you wanted. Some things to remember when looking for a dress: Remember, long and short dresses will always be in style. The Short Dress: If you want to buy a short dress, try to keep it classy. It’s never nice to have a dress that’s too short! If you’re on the taller side, a shorter dress may be the way to go, but try not to go too short and let it all hang out! Being on the shorter side, like I am, you could also go with a short dress, just pair it with some nice heals to give you a longer leg line and your ready to go! The Long Dress: Short or tall, and long dress always looks nice! If you’re into a more ball gown dress or a sleeker dress, you can never go wrong with long! The Colour: When you’re shopping for your dress, remember to take into account your skin colour when purchasing your dress. If your very lighted skinned, buying a light dress may not work with your colour and a dark, dark dress may wash you out, try a brighter colour that will accent your skin. If your a darker skin colour, try not to buy a dress that’s too dark for you, you should also try a brighter colour dress. An amazing colour dress that is totally in right now, is a champagne dress!...It looks nice on lots of girls..So try it!

The Hair:
After the dresses are bought, it’s all about the hair now! I think that your hair should depend on your dress style. In my opinion, when a girl buys a strapless dress, she should try to keep her hair up, out of her face, to give her a nice neckline. Although having your hair down with loose curls would also look fabulous!
When trying to decide what kind of hair style you want, consider your hair length. If your hair is super super long, you may want to go half up with it, just so you can separate some of your hair. If your hair is really short, you may not think you can add curls to your hair..try it.. you may be surprised that it just might look awesome. Something that is also hot right now, is adding a broach to your hair. Whether your hair is up or down, adding a broach or a clip to your hair will make it that much better. It’s also nice, if you don’t want to spend the cash to get your hair done, try and do it yourself, or get a friend to do it for you. Look up the hair style you want on the internet, and before your actual prom, try that style on yourself to see if it works and if you like it! That will keep some money in your pocket, and leave you happy!

Make-up:

Lastly is your make-up. Now, whether you’re doing your own make-up, or getting it done, try to remember less is always more. You never want to put on so much make-up that no one recognizes you. Keep it simple. It’s always nice, for the evening, to try a smoky eye, a little bit darker but not too dark. If you’re not into the smoky eye, keep it fresh; use colours that work with your dress. Remember; never match your make up to your dress! Match your make-up colour to your eye colour. For example, if you have brown eyes, try using an eggplant colour to contrast the brown. Lastly, although a lot of young girls don’t like it, try wearing some lipstick or a tinted gloss. Having your lips done will finish off your prom look, and give you that evening look!
So girls, when planning your prom looks, use these tools! You will be happy with your outcome and youwill remember your prom forever!

Weddings 101 (for most men)

Wedding bells, for most girls..including myself, have been ringing in our heads since we were young girls. We plan our flowers, our centerpieces, and our dresses, all for that one special day that’s all about us. For most men, these aspects of weddings may not seem important. When most women contemplate the colour scheme of the wedding, most men may not see it as "that important". So here is a little guideline for MOST men to look too while they help plan a wedding!

1) Season of the wedding (including flowers, colour schemes, centerpieces. and decorations):
Okay men, although you may not realize, the season your wedding takes place in has a lot to do with the colour scheme of the wedding, including bridesmaid dress colour, flowers, and decorations. If your wedding takes place in the spring, one would usually find bright fresh colours incorporated. You would usually see the bridesmaid dresses being bright blues, pinks, and yellows. For flower arrangements you would most likely see bright coloured flowers such as gerberas, or lily's, or brightly coloured hydrangeas. Some brides may also incorporate spring-like themes to there weddings, like butterflies. If your wedding takes place in the fall, your wedding would incorporate fall-like aspects. Colours would be more in the warm side, introducing colours such as browns and oranges. Flowers and bridesmaid dress colours would also change to warmer colours as well to follow this theme.
Centerpieces, although doesn’t seem important to a lot of men, is important to women! We take into account the size, the colour, and the theme of the centerpieces. Okay men, remember, you don’t want your centerpieces too big, or else your guest won’t be able to see each other across the table. You want them just big enough to make a statement. You also want the centerpieces to go along with your theme and color scheme. Again, going along with the season of your wedding! These rules also apply when decorating your area for your wedding. Tablecloths, seat covers, and decorations also need to go along with the colour and theme of the wedding!Overall, the season of your wedding has A LOT to do with the themes and aspects of your wedding!

2) The food:
Okay men, food is your area of expertise! When choosing food for your wedding, culture and background should be taken into consideration. You should have foods that suit most people’s palates. For example, if you are having a Portuguese wedding, it is nice to incorporate a seafood element to your dinner. If you are getting married in a hall, the hall can usually accommodate the preferences you have for food. An important thing to remember is that you never want your guests to go home hungry!

3) The Cake!:
The cake is a very important aspect of the wedding! And there are a lot of things to consider when picking/ or making a cake. The cake, like everything else, needs to follow the colour and theme of the wedding. For example, if your colour theme is blue, you would want a little bit of blue accents somewhere on your cake. The size is also important. Depending on your guest count depends on the size f your cake. If you’re having a small wedding, you can easily get away with a 1 or 2 teir cake. If you are having a large wedding, you would most likely need a 3 or 4+ teir cake.
Also, when picking the flavour of your cake, pick a flavour that is universal, a flavour that most people will enjoy, such as vanilla or chocolate, or marble. This will ensure that everyone enjoys your cake!

4) Location/transportation:
Gentlemen, picking the perfect spot for your wedding is another very important aspect for your wedding; depending if your want an indoor wedding or an outdoor wedding. There are things to consider when having an outdoor wedding and the most obvious one is WEATHER. You don’t want it to be too hot, too cold, too windy, or too rainy. Remember, it’s more of a gamble to have an outdoor wedding because you never know how Mother Nature will react! Moreover, when having in indoor wedding, you need to make sure your hall isn’t too big, or too small. You also want the dance floor to be a good size, since you will be dancing all night long!Another aspect of location is travel and travel time. If you decide to get married in a church, it is nice to find a hall around the same area so your guests don’t have to travel far distances during the day! This is also more convenient for your guests. In regards to transportation for your bridal party, it’s always nice to have a limo, or a car (with a driver), just so your bridal party, and your bride! Don’t have to worry about driving on this day!

5) Music:
When choosing your d.j make sure you ask him to play a variety of music. It is important for all ages to be able to get up and dance all night long! So have music for all ages, just so in the end, everyone is happy!

Lastly men remember, it is important to remember that for your bride, and yourself, this is the biggest and most important day of your lives. These details are very important in making sure your day is perfect. So remember men, be understanding when your bride takes all these little details into account! And after reading this, you are now ready to help plan the wedding!
